Capt.
Joe Ward has been fishing the inshore waters of Ft.
Pierce for over 40 years and is one of the most productive
fishing guides in the Ft. Pierce area. His knowledge
and attention to detail will insure your next guided
trip to be a success. Whether you are a seasoned tournament
fisherman, a family, a group of good friends looking
for a special day to remember, or you just want to
catch your first snook, then Capt. Joe's River Charters
is the right choice for you. We welcome children and
pay special attention to their needs to try to insure
that they catch fish.
Capt. Joe has been fishing the waters of the Indian
River since he was 6 years old. When his father first
took him snook fishing on the old wooden bridges using
nothing more than a Calcutta pole, 100 pound mono
and a big mullet attached to a 6/0 hook. Capt. Joe's
first snook wasn't that big, about 10 pounds, but
after a 5 minute fight his father helped him flip
the snook up onto the bridge and that is when Capt.
Joe knew he was hooked on snook fishing.
Capt. Joe is a retired Lieutenant from the St. Lucie
County Fire District. After 25 & 1/2 years of
service he decided to fish full time. Capt. Joe has
been with his wife, Cammie, for 35 years. Capt. Joe
taught their two children, Rob and Tina, his love
of fishing and both are avid anglers. Rob has gone
on to fish the S.K.A. tournaments and is teaching
his daughters, Savannah and Kaitlyn, his love for
fishing. Savannah has already brought home trophies
from the Junior Teen Anglers and the S.K.A. Thanks
to her Dad she is now an avid offshore angler and
dolphin is her favorite fish to target. Tina is a
new Mom. She and her husband --Jeff had a little
boy the end of March. Hopefully the new grandson
will be fishing with Grandpa Joe soon.
